Our Past

Krenz Real Estate & Auctioneering, Inc. was founded in 1946 by my father, Ferdinand Krenz in the community of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. Krenz Real Estate was founded on trust, honesty and integrity. Ferd believed in listening to his customers and treating them like family. He said, "everyone has a story, if they want to tell it, let it be shared". My father taught me a lot about life, the real estate business and how to be an auctioneer. "Ferd" was known as "The Colonel" in the auction industry in Southern Minnesota. He showed me how the auction and real estate business work hand in hand.

Our Present

Larry Krenz My name is Larry Krenz. I am the broker/owner of Krenz Real Estate & Auctioneering, Inc.. I am very proud to serve all your real estate needs in New Ulm, Sleepy Eye and the surrounding area.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Minnesota, I have lived here most of my life. I have six brothers. We grew up on a farm on the peaceful prairies near Sleepy Eye. I entered the service during the Vietnam era, doing my "tour of duty" in Vietnam. I was stationed in California, always yearning for my home in Minnesota. They say you can take the boy out of the country but your can't take the county out of the boy. I am proud to say that is me. I believe in the importance of roots, religion and the strength of family. I treat customers as I would like to be treated, that is with patience, respect and dignity. I have been married for over 30 years to my wife Kathy. We have two sons, Jeremy and Jeff along with our daughter-in-law Ellen. We are blessed with two grandsons, Dilly and Jonah. I am a sportsman, love to camp, fish, hunt, travel, and garden. With my roots of the land, it is important to me to still feel the rich soil of the farm in my hands, so I still have the opportunity to farm some land. Politics are important to me, I keep up on community and world events, have a love of history, cheer for the Vikings and follow the Twins.

After taking over the business from my father; I moved the office to it's current location in Sleepy Eye and have since opened an office on South Broadway in New Ulm. Krenz Real Estate is founded on trust, honesty and integrity, I will continue to lead all our agents on that same path. At Krenz Real Estate we want you to know you are like family to us. We will listen to your needs, we will research what you are looking for as a buyer. As a seller, we will market your property at a price that will hold with the present market, always with a goal in mind. That goal is to sell your property at a profit so you can begin new adventures. We know our customers are our key to success and we never forget it.

This is what I am, it is what I do. We may not be one of the large corporate companies, we don't want to be. We are proud to say, we are your local hometown real estate firm. Local people serving local people. We are always there for you to help you in both your real estate and auction needs.

Our Future

Jeff Krenz As Broker/Owner of Krenz Real Estate & Auctioneering, Inc., I am able to look at the past; be thankful for the present and look to the future. As Jeff's Grandfather taught me, I will teach him. Jeff will have the opportunity (deo valenti) of having years of working with me. I expect some day he can maintain and bring the family business to new levels that aren't available today. It is with a true sense of pride and peace to know that Krenz Real Estate will continue as a family business striving to exceed our customers expectations. Some day, Jeff may teach his son and so it will continue through time.
